Below are the six steps to the Bankruptcy process.
1. Completing our online questionnaire (Total cost $399.00 $329.00 Flat Fee) price discount expires 12/20/2012
Once your payment has been made, you will automatically be re-directed to our online questionnaire. Once you have completed the questionnaire, a representative will contact you to verify the information that you have entered. At that time we will begin your document preparation.
You can start the process with a deposit of $200.00 and the balance payable upon completion.
2. Completing your Pre-Bankruptcy Credit Counseling Class (Total cost $35.00)
Before your Bankruptcy documents are filed with the courts, you must complete a credit counseling class within 180 days prior to your filing date. This can be done over the phone or online.
3. Filing your documents (Total cost $306.00)
Once your documents have been completed and you've taken your credit counseling class, the next step is to file your documents with the court. This can be done by either going to the courthouse, or mailing the documents in along with your payment.
4. Completing your Post-Bankruptcy Credit Counseling Class (Total cost $15.00)
Once you have filed your documents with the court, you must complete another credit counseling class BEFORE you are granted a discharge.
5. Attending your 341 meeting
Shortly after filing your bankruptcy case, you will be notified by the Bankruptcy court of the date, time, and location of your meeting. During this meeting, you will be meeting with a trustee from the court. There will be other people in the room that are filing for Bankruptcy just like you. When it is your turn, it usually only takes about 5 minutes or so.This meeting is referred to as the meeting of the creditors because if they (your creditors) have any objections to your bankruptcy, they may attend. Generally this is very rare because they know that there is little that they can do at this point. The creditors that do attend the meeting are typically those that have secured property such as your home or your car, and they typically just want to know if you intend on keeping that particular asset.
6. Your Discharge
After you have attended your 341 meeting, as long as none of your creditors have objected to your case, which again is rare,
your case will be discharged.
This normally takes place in about 60 to 90 days.
